Why are you building Ronroo?
Ronroo exists because we needed it ourselves.
Members of our team bring substantial expertise through researching and working with executive functioning, ADHD, and self-regulation—from academic research to coaching and occupational therapy. We’re also an all-neurodivergent team. Like many others, we grew up wishing our brains came with user manuals!
Ronroo is our answer to the lack of practical, trustworthy support we encountered. It’s shaped by lived experience, informed by research, and built with care by people who want a world that makes room for different minds to flourish.
What is executive functioning?
Executive functioning is a set of mental skills through which your brain manages thoughts and actions so you can get things done. Think of it as the brain’s management system. These skills are heavily associated with the prefrontal cortex and are often discussed in the context of ADHD, autism, and learning differences, but we all rely on them all the time.
Key executive functions include:
- Planning – deciding what to do and in what order
- Working memory – holding information in mind while using it
- Inhibition – resisting impulses, pausing before acting
- Task initiation – getting started (even when you don't feel like it)
- Task shifting – moving from one task to another
- Sustained attention – staying focused long enough to finish
- Cognitive flexibility – switching strategies, adapting when plans change
- Emotional regulation – managing emotions so they don't overwhelm us
When these processes work well, daily life feels smoother and more controlled. When they don’t, people can experience procrastination, forgetting tasks, or difficulty making decisions or staying focused. This is called executive dysfunction, and it can occur in anyone but is especially common in people with ADHD and other neurodivergent profiles.
At Ronroo, our mission is to help everyone who has these challenges. By using Ronroo, you can build insight into how your unique brain works, learn skills and strategies that support you in getting things done, and regain a sense of agency.
Why is Ronroo better than a productivity app?
Many productivity apps focus on external management: reminders, lists, and strict schedules. While these can be helpful, they can’t address the issue when the root cause is internal—executive dysfunction. People with these challenges often struggle not with knowing what to do, but with starting it, staying with it, or adapting when things go wrong.
Habit trackers and task managers are like calendar 2.0. And, if you struggle with procrastination, you know that just putting something in your calendar doesn’t make you do it. That’s why coaching beats tracking every time.
Ronroo’s exercises are similar to ones that a cognitive behavioral coach would assign. Ronroo helps you understand the why behind your struggles and address it in depth.
Why doesn’t Ronroo do habit tracking?
Habit tracking often works by leveraging external accountability and the satisfaction of a streak. However, breaking a streak can trigger feelings of failure and shame. For people with executive dysfunction, this can reinforce the underlying challenges (like task initiation, cognitive rigidity, or emotional regulation).
Ronroo focuses on giving you insight on how you can thrive.
Our goal is to make desired actions easier by supporting you in understanding what works for you, not by imposing rigid tracking that can backfire. That’s why you don’t need to use the app every day unless you want to. Ronroo is here to support your life, not restrict it with rigid expectations.
Is Ronroo a therapy chatbot?
No. All exercises and content are carefully designed and reviewed by our expert team.
Unlike chatbot-based apps, Ronroo doesn’t rely on open-ended AI conversations, so you’re not interacting with an AI that generates responses on the fly or gives advice you didn’t ask for. Instead, Ronroo’s material is intentional, consistent, and grounded in research.
Does Ronroo replace therapy or medication?
No — and it’s not meant to. Ronroo is a supportive tool, not a replacement for therapy, medication, or professional mental health care. Many people use tools like Ronroo alongside therapy, or on their own for everyday support.
If you are experiencing significant distress or mental health challenges, please consult a licensed therapist or healthcare provider.
When will you launch?
We’re building Ronroo with care, grounding it in research and real-world testing. As a result, we don’t have a fixed launch date yet — but we’ll share updates as soon as we’re ready. In the meanwhile, join our waitlist and be the first to know when we launch!
How much will it cost?
We haven’t set final pricing yet. Our intention is to price Ronroo at a level comparable to familiar consumer subscription services, so that cost isn’t a barrier to access. More details will be announced as we approach launch.
Will it be easy to subscribe or unsubscribe?
Yes, absolutely. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, no questions asked (and we wish all apps were that way). Once canceled, you will retain access until the end of your current billing cycle.
Will my data be safe?
We take privacy and data security seriously, and Ronroo is designed with user control at its core.
Your identifiable data stays on your own device and is backed up only to your personal cloud. We don’t access your personal data unless you explicitly choose to share it.
From time to time, we may run research studies to help evaluate and improve Ronroo. Our ambition is to set a new standard for digital mental health—building an app whose effectiveness is established through rigorous, peer-reviewed research. To support these research goals, we may occasionally invite users to contribute anonymized, encrypted data to voluntary studies. Taking part is always your choice, and declining won’t affect your ability to use Ronroo.
We will never sell your data or share it with third parties.
